Cruising

The

At Sea ... menu has no price. Select Well. The Vegas is not the mecca of the mediocre exclusively, but enjoys a scene that glitters beyond the tinsel of tacky entertainment; Burlesques, Etc. I

found the bars flourishing with fun, fantasy and friendliness. Vegas boasts three bars of note located near the strip. The Red Barn and Le Cafe both being about a mile apart on Tropicana Blvd., and the newest one, The Confederacy, on Main Street.

Vegas being a twenty four hour town, allows the "Scene" to prance without let up. Name your time and he'll be there. My visit to the LeCafe was pleasurable. Marge the owner was gracious to host me and allow picture taking of a drag show in progress. The presentation oozed with which

professionalism Cleveland would find itself standing up to cheer to. Sahdji, the headliner, I learned was the "Darling" of L.A. clubs and gave an outstanding impression of Diana Ross. Diana would be

proud. The audience loved it and responded with generous offerings. The theme of the show being France, featured Can-Can "girls and boys" gracefully complementing the featured players.

Really, the comedienne was funny enough to tackle big time. Le Cafe is a bar discotheque and David the jockey was up there with an excellent selection of dance numbers. The crowd I noted was mixed and mostly on the young side. The faces showed many nationalities coupled with delightful accents. Oh yes I found Le Cafe to be tres chic!

The Red Barn is exactly as it states. A barn planted on the corner of Tropicana Blvd & Maryland Parkway. This wooden building houses a bar, a pool table, slot machines, juke box and does feature shows. It is not a discotheque. Seemingly catering to the local gentry. My observation indicated that the crowd as older and dress western with touches of leather lads. Call it what you like, the hankies, do hang, there.

Ambling onward toward town, the Confederacy, I found to be clean, freshly decorated with all the features of the newest in-

novations such as strobo-lite effect and multi-colored panels electronically responding to the sound of the music controlled by the disc jockey. There is an intimacy about the place and is not as dark as the others. The well lighted room seemed to in-. vite the patrons to respond actively and the dance floor located in dead center of the club, was constantly filled with happy jumping people.

I would almost be inclined to call this the "Hustle Club". It repeatedly brought everyone together parts of the evening. I believe the Confederacy won't find it necessary to secede, but should enjoy a happy union.

Baths in Vegas?... Yes there is one. This converted hotel only recently opened since the demise of the Club Baths (no affiliations). The rooms are generous in size offering the utmost of privacy and features queen size beds. I should imagine with no harrassment it should be the answer to what's a fella to do. The housekeeping is clean..

Vegas has the usual peek shows at 25c a peek at films with the usual cruising in evidence.

Come to Las Vegas. With twenty four hours to spend, you should boast a good score card. See you in Honolulu.
